Matrixed Systems was an exhibition initially running from May 29 to June 29, 2026 at GLO Modern, 45 Market St, New York, NY. It was subsequently extended to July 31, 2026. This page preserves one record of what happened based on 31,889 observations deemed notable over the course of the first month during which the gallery was actively observed and documented 24/7. Afterwards, documentation ceased and a new summary of the preceding weeks was proposed each day for the remainder of the exhibition.
The event commenced in rooms equipped with numerous electronic devices, where individuals were seen interacting with computer monitors, keyboards, and remote controls. One person was observed playing a video game, while another cleaned a room. As the gathering progressed, groups of people were noted standing, conversing, and dancing, with an explicit mention that the event took place at a hotel on the first day of the year, incorporating elements of photography and videography. The perspective then transitioned to external scenes viewed from inside vehicles, showcasing parked cars, reflections of foliage, and numerous instances of trains, both stationary and in motion, viewed through windows, sometimes with blurry effects or reflections. Subsequently, detailed observations of interior spaces resumed, consistently highlighting rooms furnished with televisions (frequently wall-mounted), various types of windows (including those with screens, blinds, or grates), and climate control systems such as air conditioners or radiators. Walls in these areas were often adorned with large white papers, posters, signs, and written messages. Individual activities also continued, with participants engaged in work on computers or projectors, and some performing physical exercises like push-ups or carrying a skateboard.
